The Hockey Foundation is one way you can help ensure hockey is a strong and vibrant sport at grassroots level. Established in 2009 by Hockey New Zealand, the Foundation is a charitable trust that raises funds to improve the health of Kiwis through the growth and development of hockey in this country.
The Foundation’s fundraising strategy comprises of:
A capital fund which will generate an ongoing income stream.
Funds can be targeted to specific regional or association initiatives.
In 2011 the Foundation received a huge boost when leading businessman and philanthropist Sir Owen G Glenn pledged $1.3 million. The Foundation sought matching donations from 20 ‘first eleven’ donors and raised nearly $800,000.
